Should you opt for a screen roof or a louvred canopy?

Screen roof

Still dreaming of that cosy breakfast nook outdoors, right next to your garden? Do you love enjoying the sun on the patio but fancy a bit of shade there, too? There’s always a good reason for having a patio cover installed. Choosing which type of cover you’re getting, however, can be a bit of a dilemma. To help you make a well-informed decision, this article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of screen roofs and louvred canopies in a nutshell.

Installing a patio cover with a screen roof

In any case, you can’t go wrong with a Renson screen roof. The advantages speak for themselves!

All Renson screen roofs come with patented Fixscreen technology. That means you’re getting a patio cover which is:

  • wind-resistant (up to 100 km/h),
  • UV-resistant
  • waterproof
  • equipped with water ducts so your furniture doesn’t get wet whenever you close the screen
  • remote-controlled (optional) and compatible with smart home systems

Keep in mind that patio covers with a screen roof cannot be free-standing: they must always be attached to an existing structure. Renson does, however, offer a wide array of colours so that you can perfectly match your patio cover to your home.

The pros and cons of a louvred canopy

If you decide to have a louvred canopy installed, you’re getting a very stylish patio cover that comes with loads of interesting features.

Arguably the most striking advantage of a louvred canopy is its minimalistic look which matches any style. Just like with Renson screen roofs, you can simply tilt the slats using a remote control. By the way, did you know the Camargue Skye even comes with retractable slats? And that you can have your Renson louvred canopy fully customised to your liking? Rest assured, though: once the slats are closed, not a single drop of rain will seep through. Are you considering placing your canopy a little further down the garden? The choice is yours! Louvred canopies can be either free-standing or attached to your home.

A louvred canopy may not be your cheapest option, but it certainly is worth the investment as you will be able to enjoy it for years to come.
